Valley Township Recycling Info
Located at 2054 N. M-40
This means that the following items can be commingled in
either bin:
Magazines, phonebooks, flattened cardboard
and box board (plastic liners removed), paper grocery bags, newspapers,
office paper, junk mail, plastic bottles, clear and colored glass bottles,
aluminum/steel/tin cans, paper boxes(cake boxes, cereal boxes,soda and
beer boxes) can be commingled in these bins. Plastic grocery bags are
no longer accepted here but can be taken to the Hamilton Monitored Depot.
Household batteries, Styrofoam, plastic grocery bags, appliances, and tires can be taken to the monitored depot site: Allied Waste, 3310 M-40, Hamilton, on the first and third Saturdays of each month, from 9 a.m. to Noon. You must present your Resource Recovery card (available at the Township office for residents who have paid their $15 recycling fee on the 2010 Winter tax bill).
Valley Township residents can now drop off TVs, Computer
Monitors, Personal Computers, Cell Phones, Video Game Units, Printers,
DVD Players, VCRs, etc. at the Salem Township Transfer Station located
on 29th St., south of 142nd Avenue.

all Computer Monitors and TV's, all other devices are free. Please stop
in the Valley Township office for your Resource Recovery Card to be able
to use the Salem Township service. You must have paid your $15 recycling
fee on your winter tax bill in order to obtain a Resource Recovery Card.
A fee-based company in Fennville accepts ewaste items.

not, free of charge. Contact individual outlets for more information.

Many pesticides, cleaning products and paints contain toxic chemicals that should not be disposed of in your household trash. If you would like to dispose of them, make an appointment to do so at the site listed below:
THE FOLLOWING SUBSTANCES ARE ACCEPTED: Pesticides, weed killers, cleaners, polishes, aerosols, wood preservatives, asphalt and roofing tar, oil based paint products (thinners, solvents, varnish), photographic chemicals, mercury thermometers, fluorescent lamps, CFL bulbs, and home repair products (glue and cement). NO smoke detectors, explosives or latex paints. Residential materials only, commercial waste will not be accepted.
