Note from the Supervisor

 

Spring and summer clean up is an ongoing task in our township.  Thanks to those of you who participate in clean up days to rid your property of unwanted articles.  We can use your help to encourage more people to participate.  We are fortunate to have the beautiful Allegan State Forest in our township.  Help us keep this asset and the township looking as clean and beautiful as we can.

I would like to thank all of the hard working individuals who have contributed to land use planning and review of our ordinances.  We have begun to look at all ordinances with the goal of updating, refining, consolidating, and/or eliminating ordinances that are outdated or unneeded.  Those individual residents are as follows:  Melodie Dobbins, Harry Smith, Brandee Ellis, Ray Radloff, Bill Jones, Tony Garofalo, George Preisler, Janet Nelson, Bob Ollis, Bill Carr, Gordon Caldwell.  We hope to have this project completed within the year.  As always, your township officers and trustees value your opinions and contributions to this and any other township project.

A word about the website.  It is still a work in progress.  It is much improved thanks to Tyler Darling.  We are currently training an individual to be responsible for the website's upkeep.  We will attempt to have minutes and reports on the website as quickly as possible.  Please help us monitor and notify us of corrections and updates as needed.

The past few years have resulted in an attempt to fairly assess all the property in Valley Township in order to make the township a viable and creditable governmental agency.  We have also made decision making as transparent as possible and especially to respect input from residents.  Your township officials are here to help you and your communities.

So again, thanks to all those who attend meetings and help us make decisions that benefit all of us.
