The September 13, 2022 regular meeting of the Valley Township Board will be held at the Allegan Township Hall due to the anticipated increase in attendance over the Consumers Dam issue.

NOTICE:
The township office will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, September 12th and 13th during our parking lot reconstruction. Tax payments can be left in our drop box (please park on the road) or you can now pay your taxes online. We will be open on Wednesday September 14 for the final day of summer tax collection.
Note: a 3% processing fee is charged for online payments.
Our New Office Entrance is OPEN in the rear of the
building.
Tax payments, documents, and/or Ballots can be deposited
in our new secure drop box to the right of the new entrance.

2022 Winter tax bills will be mailed about December 1st and will be
due on February 14th, 2023

Free or Low-Cost Transportation for Allegan County Seniors
Seniors, do you struggle with transportation to get to the pharmacy
or medical appointments? There is FREE or low-cost (donation-based)
transportation available for seniors (age 60 or older) in Allegan
County. Transportation is offered seven days a week, excluding holidays.
Requests should be scheduled 72 business hours in advance so driver
accommodations can be made. To register and schedule a ride call 269-673-5472
ext. 261.
2022 Township Fall Clean-up Day
September 10
Thank you for making our Spring Clean-up Day a success. We will be hosting our last clean-up day of the year in the fall. You can dispose of those hard-to-get-rid-of household items (see list below).
Fall Clean-up Day 2022
The Valley Township resident's annual Fall Clean-up day is scheduled for September 10, 2022 at Hicks' Property 4726 118th Avenue by Round Lake. Hours are 9am-5pm.
Approx. 1 mile west of DNR office, Round Lake area - south side of road.
Not accepted: Paint cans, yard waste, televisions, burn barrels,
household garbage, tires.
Accepted: Refrigerators, stoves, washers, small appliances, old furniture,
mattresses, and unwanted household items.
Please note: We are unable to get more dumpsters in the afternoon due to Republic's Saturday hours. Once the afternoon dumpsters are full, they cannot accept any more.

WASTE SERVICES ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
We have come up short of the 250 residents needed to start the 96
gallon cart recycling. We are persuing alternatives to the Republic
home pickup recycling service but it will take more time.
2022 FEE SCHEDULE FOR REGULAR TRASH PICKUP: WASTE 96-GALLON CART, $14.12 PER MONTH, WEEKLY PICKUP, BILLED QUARTERLY
Echo Point Shooting Range Issues:
If you have any issues with the noise or any other issues with the shooting range, please call the DNR hotline and leave your complaint via voice or text: 800-292-7800.
Together, we can try to work towards a comprimise with the DNR to reduce the increased volume coming from the shooting range.
New Videos to help Protect Michigan's Shorelines
The state Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy has created a series of new videos to promote the Michigan Shoreland Stewards Program to help residents who live along a shoreland (lakes and streams) protect the environment of their home and water quality. Currently, there are five videos available on such topics as shoreline zone, buffer zone, lake zone and others.
