Bob Dobbins
Bob and his wife Melodie first purchased land in Valley Township in 1968. They started living in the township in 1972 with their two sons, Bob Jr. and Rick. They chose Valley Township because they wanted to raise their children in a place that offered peace and serenity, and many outdoor opportunities. Bob has been married to Melodie for more than forty years. They have two sons, and 7 grandchildren that range in age from eight to twenty-five.
Bob retired from the carpenter trade in 1996. They appreciate all of the recreational activities and wildlife the township surroundings offer, but most of all, the solitude. When Bob has free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, walking in the woods, working in his woodshop, and tinkering with his tractor and dozer.
Bob first became interested in township politics about eight years ago, because he did not like the path the township was taking. After attending several meetings, he realized that citizen input, both positive and negative, is an essential part of representative government at all levels. He would like to encourage all township residents, young and not so young to attend meetings whenever possible, and call the township when you have concerns or ideas that may be helpful in improving the township.
