| Bill
was elected as the Township Supervisor in November of 2004. He was
asked to run for the position by a group of township residents who
felt he had the credentials and experience to be a successful Supervisor.
One of his goals since taking the position has been to take township
government to the people by making sure they have the information
needed to voice their opinions and give input on decisions knowledgeably.
He would also like to see more residents become involved in the
township.
Bill has lived in the township for seven years
with his wife Carol. They have been married for forty-seven years.
They have one daughter named Susan, who lives in Battle Creek, Michigan
with her husband Tim and children, Griffin and Alexandria. Bill’s
favorite thing about living in the township is the wide variety
of outdoor activities it offers, as well as the friendship and support
of their neighbors in the township.
Besides being the Township Supervisor, Bill also
teaches classes in Psychology at Kalamazoo Valley Community College
and Grand Valley State University. Before moving to the township
he was a faculty member and administrator at Indiana University
and at the University of Maine. Bill is also a member of the Fraternal
Order of Elks, the National Rifle Association, SASS, NCOWS, and
The North American Hunting Club. When he does have some spare time,
he enjoys working in his yard, hunting, fishing, gunsmithing, woodworking,
camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. During the summer
months, he likes to spend time with his wife on their sailboat,
“Freudian Sloop”. |
